Max Hirshfeld, Washington, DC

Max Hirshfeld is a Washington, DC - based photographer.  He established Max Hirshfeld Pictures in 1978 — advertising and editorial photography with an emphasis on portraiture.  Prior to opening his studio business, Max was a staff photographer with the National Zoo, Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC.  His work has appeared in numerous publications, including the Washington Post, American Photography, Eyemzing, PDN, Communications Arts, among other leading media outlets.  Max has exhibited in a wide variety of group and solo shows — including 15 for Philip: Fifteen Artists Look at Philip Barlow, One Shot, Survey of Washington Photography, Looking at Looking, AIPAD (New York) and Flow (Miami).
